I have a smaller B series Kubota from the early1990s, which despite the years difference, is not unlike the size, strength and agility of the
B2710. Others can give you technical comments way beyond my knowledge base. However, I am very well versed in the capabilities and limitations of this size tractor.
First of all, the strength of this size class is portability. I load mine onto a 14' dually landscape trailer, including all the attachments (FEL,PHD,rake, middle buster, pallet forks, rock sled) and tow the whole thing easily with a small pickup truck. My whole kit and kaboodle is less than 5,000 lbs...including the trailer. I typically haul it 400 miles (properly chained down of course) without a problem. My point is, it is very easy to move, if that matters to you. You don't need a big truck or super heavy duty trailer. I take my own tractor to my vacation property, my dad's, for service, etc. I am not a neavy hauler by any means.
The next class of tractor starts to change this portability..as heavier trucks and trailers are required.
Now to the tractor. I easily turn a heavy landpride PHD 25. The PHD is for a 25-40 hp tractor. I would never think of using a lighter device. This size tractor has plenty of torque and weighting for such and similiar devices.
My rake is also very heavy duty..for a much bigger tractor. Such earth devices are well within the tractor's range.
However, it does not turn a comparatively heavy tiller very well at all...or anything similiar (seeder, pulverizer, etc). It lacks the weight or at least the umph.
It is far more maneuverable than the next size class...so it cuts grass well with MMM or a 3PH mount device.
The FEL lift in the 600-750 lb range is somewhat unrealistic given the buckets are usually in the 48-54 range...so materials rarely fit into it that weight that much. It does lift 600 -700 plus with chain/FEL hooks...but this size tractor DEFINITELY needs weight on the 3PH since overall weight is light compared to such lift weights.
I know these are general thoughts not specific to the
B2710...but I have had both tractors of this class and the next.
If you want to drive in tight spaces, need portability, good rear ground engagement work but somewhat limited FEL capacity...this size is for you.
If you already have a big pickup or the thing will never leave your property plus need 30 plus HP class FEL and tiller capability, go up a size class.
Finally thought -I can move 20 yards of topsoil faster with this tractor than with my 40 HP, only because I can go between the house and garage into the back yard instead of having to drive around all the buildings!
