I am looking to replace my 2002 Deere 4310 Hydro. Mostly thinking Deere, largely due to my experience with it and my Yanmar 186d. Reviewing the engines, I was reminded that Yanmar is again offering machines here.

Just starting to look at the 235 and 347 (open station). The 347 transmission is a big appeal. Actually either one is. I have a local dealer, actually closer than the green one. They have a good reputaion, even though they are much smaller than the green.

Are there any caveats to be on the lookout? Any snafus (like - be sure to order 'xyz' rather than add later, or vice versa.)

If you end up going for the YT347 you get the iHMT which is more efficient and also more serviceable than an HST. If service is ever required apparently the iHMT can slide out the back of the tractor rather than having to break the machine in half.

You also get two standard rear remotes with the YT347/359.

The YT359 is only about $2K more than the YT347 if you want more power.

I'd love to see detail pics of the operator's station showing the controls. It'll be a while before I can get by the dealer

The dealer sent copies of the YT2 and YT3 owner's manuals.

I have to say that the 3 series is especially impressive. I really like the instrument display and feel that it is very sensibly utilized.

I do need to wrap my head around come of the choices for the controls, like the stalk mounted headlight switch, with long term durability being the chief concern.

A lot of the controls are found in automobiles and have years of use and development behind them. Should not be an issue but easy to swap out a failed part in twenty years...

We just bought a YT347 open cab and love it. I think my wife has more hours on it than i do. Controls seem pretty durable. I was concerned about the whining noise coming from the transmission but I've heard that is normal. With the tier IV emissions you wouldn't even know you're running a diesel.

DavidL61,
Thank you for your business. And thank you for the photo of your YT347 in those beautiful surroundings.
