I am considering replacing my 2001 4100 with something newer, have not decided yet, but I am thinking about it /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif
I have been looking at the 2210 for a while, but I like the size of the 4xxx series.

I have a 54" snow blade, 54"MMM, 30" dirt scoop, and a 3PT Spreader, which I use around my property.
Looking to go newer at thi point.

Any suggestions?

Narrowing down to the 4xxx series now, staying inclass due to some of the info I have reviewed on other posts. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Nuru, if you don't mind me asking, how much land do you have ? I have had a similar thought regarding my 2001 4100, but it is awfully nice having a "paid for" tractor /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I think I'm missing something here...like why would you do that? there is no difference between the 4100 and todays 4110 series and the 2210 is a step down....all I see is a big payment or loss to gain out this idea....unless your 4100 is beat to death and high hours, I dont get it....

I'd wait for the supposed newer models that I read herein that are supposed to replace the 4xxx series. The 2210 is a considerable step down in ability, other than a little bit more power. Think the 2210 is overpowered for its size. It basically can do less than what my 4010 will do. Think maybe the 2210 is for people who don't know how to gauge how hard they're running their implements.

Ralph,

I think it's time you lay off the 2210 bashing. Each tractor has a following for a reason. Those last few sentances are just plain stupid. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

I second that.
I would not even consider the under powered 4010. The 2210 has power and not too much weight. It is just right for all of us who have it and we love it. To go up to another machine just to have a bigger machine is where foolishness resides. Weight is a big issue for me to have on my wet lawn. It is wet until August and too much weight would just destroy it. Now as for the extra power, I have steep hills and I can't imagine those smaller HP engines going up with a full load of stone and the BB loaded too. Remember Bigger Tires don't give your tractor the power... the engine does.

Here is the major aspect... With a bigger tire you need more power to turn them. So why get a smaller engine and put the larger diameter tire on it? If I lived in FL I could see the smaller motor. The ONLY 4XXX I could consider would have been the 4115. The 4115 is a beautiful machine but too much weight to put on my beautiful green lawn.

I dont get why Ralph is being that way either. He is under the impression the 4010 with the 410 loader is vastly stronger than the 2210 and the 210 loder. Its not and its more exactly matched then he realizes. The 410 capacities are only reached with the larger 4100-4115 series....they have the hydrolics. There is a small 3 pt advantage but its not that advantageous. I would be happy to own either machine without any second guessing or bashing of the model I didnt choose... Oh well
