Hi guys,
New member and I can use some help. I have an 03 Malinda 4500 with a ML260 loader. My control valve started leaking at the Joystick area. I removed the unit and took it to a repair facility in San Antonio Tx. I got it back installed it and here is where the problems started. I'm pretty good with mechanical stuff. But I really dropped the ball on this I think. All connections went back just fine, most were color coded with zip ties. However two were not. When I went to start the tractor it acted like it was a weak battery. When it fired off all kinds of fluid blew out the top under the joy stick. I reversed two hoses and the big leak stopped but it still leaked. After removing the unit and inspecting it. It looked like the case was cracked. I can't figure out how that would have happens with what looks to be a blow off valve on the bottom of the control unit.
My control unit is a Nimco 10178 I heaved been told that this unit is obsolete and is no longer in use.
Can anyone please recommend a good replacement unit that won't put me in then poorhouse.

Kind Regards,
Vic101

You might want to check your pump shaft and/or the shaft coupler.

Thanks so much for the reply. On my tractor would I be safe with the 10GPM. Reading about the replacement part it states that it will work for a small to medium tractor. I guess my tractor should fall in the medium classification.

If I get this part, can I ask your assistance with the placement of the existing hoses onto the new unit. My hoses with quick disconnects are color coded and I wouldn't know which port to put them into. I think I will have to manufacture a new bracket as well. My old unit looks to be much larger than the one pictured. I really could not afford to purchase another unit.

Again, thank you for your help.

Vic.

Leejohn,
Thanks for the reply. After I had the incident, I crossed the hoses back and the unit did want to work it was just leaking so bad. After we took it apart I discovered that the case split. I can't imagine how much pressure that took to do that. J.J hooked me up with a replacement part. I just might need some assistance with replacing the hoses from then old unit to the new unit. I just want to be sure that I get it right. My lack of paying attention is costing me more money. Again, thank you for your help.

Your pump flow is 11 GPM, so that valve should be close enough. Most people do not run the engine at max rpm anyway.

As far as splitting the valve, if you deadhead a hyd pump, the weakest part in the hyd flow path will let go first.

It could have been a hose, a fitting, hyd gear pump, or FEL valve as in your case.

This valve is the next size up at 14 GPM if you decide you need it.
