cub cadet 365l
Ok i just joined this in hopes someone out there can help me im totally lost when it comes with hydraullics. I have a 12yr old zero turn mower cub cadet 365l and the deck spindles are discontinued so i decided id like to convert it over to use 3 hydraulic motors to run each blade in series and dont know were to start when looking at specs on hydraulic motors i need help matching the motors and the pumps and would like if someone could educate me on how to do this also right now i have a b$s 20hp motor on this mower it would run both the hydrostatic transmissions and the pump for the deck motors also i may be replace the motor eventually for a 1L 15hp diesel that has a max rpm of 3000 but figured id use different size pullys to get up to 3600-4000 rpms just want to know if this motor would be underpowered any help i greatly appreciate

Is there enough clearance above the deck for the motors?

It would be a very expensive conversion and you might not be happy with the results.

I think it would be better to put a different deck on it or use newer spindles.

Just my :2cents:

All right decided to go a different route what about a pto driven deck and hooking a hydraulic motor up to the gear box to run the deck would that be easier and less time and money

Is this what you have?

I see no room for a PTO deck gearbox, hydraulic motor, pump, reservoir and oil cooler.

I do see room for a lot of problems if you try it, but it is your time and money.

What is wrong with the spindles?

Any good machine shop should be able to weld any broken areas and put new bearings in them.

You need to reuse the old spindles there is nothing special about them get the bearings at a good supply house. It is unlikely that your mower uses something that is not off the shelf from some company. Very hard to believe they would tool up production for one model of mower. Do not try to reinvent anything unless you have the knowledge and a bunch of extra cash.Have you tried E-bay and others? I just bought a used belt to run a mower deck from UK. Good luck ,but try the easy stuff first.

The hydrostatic pump probably doesn't have enough horsepower to run the deck at a decent speed, let alone run the unit and deck at the same time. Plus you have losses from the hydraulics and are substantially over-complicating things.

It'd be a lot easier to retrofit a more common deck, if you really can't find replacement spindles or get new bearings in.

pull the deck, and haul it to a couple tractor dealers or mower dealers around ya. even if it is not same manufacturer type of dealer. the part folks, should be able to look up info, and pull up something. for bearings / new spindles.

if you can pull one spindle / bearing out. so they can use a caliper and get correct measurements directly from the pieces.
