I'm not seeing any 1 bottom plows on CL but do see 2 bottoms for about half the price of a new 1 bottom. Could I take one of the plows off a 2 or will I just be better off waiting for a 1 bottom?

You should be able to. We have done it before.

If you decide to do that though, get a bigger 2-bottom like a 14" or 16".

But if you come across 2 10's, you may want to try it first. Your little BX might just suprise you.

I have read a few posts about standard size plows not working with the BX series. Or is this just the BX18** size?

From memory there is potentially some issues with the wheel width and or hitch height /width.

Any members care to confirm or deny this.

Note: If you look at everything attachments they have a "Low Profile" made specifically for sub CUT's.

For removing a bottom look closely at the design of the plow.
How does the rear bottom attach?
Will removing this bottom have any effect on where or how the 3PH attaches?
Is the rear land slide significantly longer than the front? Can they be interchanged? Helps keep the plow true behind the tractor.

Good luck

Yes, I seem to remember something about a BX not having the height to lift a standard plow out of the dirt. The other I don't know about. I was going to take my tractor with if I went to see one for a test fit, and if it wouldn't go high enough, see if it could be easily altered with lower attach points.

I plan on welding tabs onto my box blade in order to mount the pins facing inward instead of outward so it's easier to hook up. I wondered if a similar alteration could be done to a standard plow.
