convert pto snowblower to hydraulic

I have a 7275 cub cadet (27 hp) -7.3 gpm @2130psi and I would like to convert my pto driven snowblower to a hydraulic motor. The snow blower is 74", 540 rpm. Tired of going backwards I want to front mount this.

Could anyone tell me how to size the hydraulic motor to keep the same rpm and torque as I have ow? Has anyone done this and are they happy with it?

I also have a pto mounted pump and reseve tank on my 6.5 ft kelly backhoe that I could use for power if that would be better (can not find a tag on pump for size or pressure).

I've seen it done with using the PTO pump hanging off the back....You'll have to find the pump displacement to find a hyd motor of the same approx size plus 10% to 15%........you'll have to size the tank,valve and hoses a little larger than usual to alleviate problems with heat.....

Using standard hyd pump in tractor will not give you the speed and torque needed for power......at least that's been my experience.......

I am doing the exact same thing but have got a Power-Trac pt422 (8gpm, 2500psi) and have just bought a used 48" Ariens Sno-thro snowblower. The blower has got a beltdrive to increase the rpm´s and i am thinking of either find a hydraulic motor creating 540rpm´s OR to get rid of the belts and use a 2000rpm hydraulic motor. A basic rule of thumb is that it takes 1 hp to pump 1 GPM @ 1500 PSI so if you have 7.3 @ 2130 PSI that would be around 10 HP to drive the pump. Estimate loosing 10-15% to drive the hydraulic motor and you have about the right amount for a 26" walk behind.
