I have an old 3 point hitch pto driven fertilizer spreader that I'd like to modify to attach to my zero turn mower. Any ideas on where to get a 12 volt motor that will work? I'm not sure what the rpm should be.

The rpm would typically be 540. That is not a common rpm for a motor and would probably require a gear reducer.
The more important issue is power consumption. I expect the motor required would draw more electric power than your mower can produce.

I have a small one I bought and it just uses a 12VDC spinner motor like the ones linked below. Find one with a 1/4inch shaft size because the smaller ones will not hold up.

Do what I did.....
Go to a junk yard and get a 12vdc blower fan motor out of an older model truck. Or, you can probably use the motor for the windshield wipers as well, but it may have a gear drive attached to it. You'll have to rig up some way to attach the spreader plate (or the shaft) to the electric motor.
Get a heavy duty variable resistor (like 20 watts or so) or a rheostat and put it in series with the 12vdc power. That way, you can vary the speed until you get the spread pattern you want. That is one advantage that the electric spreaders have over the mechanical driven (PTO powered) spreaders. If you do it, show us some pic's, it might help someone else.

Short while ago I scrapped the refrigeration system from an insulated delivery van.
Kept the blower motors as they were very powerful permanent magnet types with 1/4 shafts as I could see all sorts of potential uses.
If you can find one, a wheelchair traction motor would be ideal, generally PM type, high torque and slow RPM.

Great ideas, i tried a wiper motor out of a Honda but it was too flimsy and wouldn't have held up. I like the resistor idea to vary the speed depending on what I am spreading. Looks like a trip to the wrecking yard is in order. It's easy for me to find 120V motors that would work with a small inverter but I'd prefer 12V
I repowered my ATV spreader today with the cooling fan motor off of a small car. (I think it was from a Chevy Caviler) We figured if it could spin a 12" fan it would have plenty power. It got dark before we could spread any seed today.
We also made a new spinner (or what ever they are called) also but only because the old one was seized onto the dead electric motor. I guess that is from spreading fertilizer.
