I finally got around to adapting my hoe to the Bradco subframe. I didn't get any pictures yesterday when I tried it out but, the difference in how solid it feels is amazing. :)
The first pic shows the 3pt mount.
The 2nd pic is me drying the paint in the cold.
The 3rd shows the brakets mounted to the hoe.
The 4th & 5th pics show it connected to the subframe mounts.
I had the bracket cut & drilled out of 3/4" plate at the steel supplier, as per my wood template. 2 of the 5 holes in each were off and I had to weld them solid and re-drill. I bought my drill press after, or I would have drilled all of them myself. The side braces are 1/2" plate.
No close-ups of my Fred Flinstone welding.
On my 1st attempt at welding them together, one of them didn't go together at 90* and I had a heck of a time grinding out the weld to get it apart.
I learned my lesson and welded the side brace on to hold it at 90*.
It was a good job to have done.

Torin,
Looks great ! So........if i understand correctly, you were able to buy a subframe kit for your tractor, to which a Bradco hoe shoulda attached to. Then..... you adapted your non-Bradco hoe to it? Ya done good !!

If'n you ever need a hand with any of that, lemme know.... i'm only up the road. I know Wayne is always too busy !!!! ;-)

I actually lucked out and was given the main pieces of the subframe. I had to buy the two red halves in the pic from Knoxland Equipment. I would have paid 7K+ for a Bradco or Woods hoe (based on local quotes). I wanted the pto pump and tank to keep my hydro tranny separate. I ended up dealing with Tommy @ Affordable & Ronald @ Ranch Hand. I got the hoe, the subframe peices I needed, the steel for the adapters, a nice new Lincoln 175amp Mig, a TSC drill press and still a couple of $ in my pocket. :)

Evening Torin, that's great! Sounds like a great deal also, and you even got a bit of welding (practice) time.
My backhoe feels so much better with the subframe. Let us know if the hoe seems more solid under stress.

Good for you - all the luck.....

Hey Torin,
That is a great job you did.
Not to mention a great job acquiring a bunch of well needed goodies to go along with it. Adding a subframe to your hoe like that is one of the most important things you can add to your tractor. It truly will save lots of wear and tear on both the hoe and tractor, not to mention the added performance due to the rigid mounting like that.
Great job.

Hey, Good Job Torin !!

I have had others do the same thing. I sold one to a guy in Florida and he purchased the Bush Hog brand tractor side frame and adapted it the the hoe for his Kubota. He also wonted the pump and tank.

Have fun

Ronald
