Hey,
I haven't had much luck yet in finding a used 4-5' rear mount snowblower but I have found a 4' front mount Kubota b-2551 blower for sale.
Front mount isn't my first choice because I would eventually want to add a FEL to my tractor (plus I don't have much experience with hydraulics).
Are there any major problems I'll encounter if I just weld up a 3 point frame to the blower and mount it on the back?

Would the blower hold more value if I kept it as a front mount and then traded it for a rear mount if/when I find a FEL

Thanks.

I doubt seriously that you will find one unless you contact Wengers of Myerstown, PA, USA

The problem is the 2,000 plus RPM gearbox for a front mount and the work needed to
convert it to a 540 RPM set up with a new gearbox and weldments and bearings

It would be simpler and less aggravating for you to purchase a new ready to run Pronovost P540.

You can always add wings to the snow caster to make it cut wider when and if you buy a larger mule.

The issue of a modified snow casters value is not worth discussing because all it will be is scrap metal sadly.

I would think a front mount blower would be more valuable as a front mount blower.

I found a parts link for the blower on Kubota's site - apparently it can be used as either a rear mount or a front mount. There is a front mount kit (with gearing) and a 3 point kit in the parts list. Kubota Canada Ltd. Parts
This might be slick little attachment - gives me some options.

Just be sure to check the price of converting it versus investing in rear mount.

I will say that RAD quality(Kubotas sub contractor builder for implements)is not the best
in my opinion- I have an RAD Front mount JD and its not the best in my opinion.

It would also be good for you to check the price of an Allied Farm King rear mount
snow caster of that size of close to it as you could use a wider rear mount and make
a slower pass on the first pass and operate faster with half cuts when needed.

It would be worth it for you to check with Ken Sweet via a PM here on the forum to ask
if he has any Allied rear mount snow blowers left as he was no longer going to stock them.
