Ballast Converting old JD ballast box to I-match compatible

I have an old JD ballast box that will not fit the JD I-match. The middle top link arm on the box is not long enough(high enough). Does anyone know the length I need to make the box compatible and any idea on how to adapt it. I can't weld, at least not yet, so that's currently not an option. HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think the center needs to be raised about 4", I know a friend of mine did it to his, but I don't recall the dimensions. Without a welder I'm not sure how your going to do it though...any chance you could take it to a welding shop?
