I would like to do a total drain of the coolant system, block and radiator. I currently am using NPG+ coolant in all my other diesels and want to run it in the 7610. NPG+ is a non H2O coolant, so you must remove 100% of the old water based coolant first. Is they any tricks to totally draining the block and where is the drain for the block? Thanks for the help.

I don't have a 7610, but I used low pressure compressed air to clear the block and lines when I drained mine. It was awhile ago so I don't remember exactly what I did, but I made a little rubber fitting out of an old inner tube that allowed me to seal my air hose pretty well into one of the hoses or drain fittings, and then slowly forced the water out of the places that normally don't drain. I think I pushed into the bottom of the engine and forced it back into the radiator so it would drain out the bottom.

If this coolant you're using doesn't like water, I think I'd do a purge first with the new stuff, then refill.

On the left side of the block there is a large 1" plug needing a large allen wrench. I don't remember the size. there is also a drain pet cock on the left forward side of the engine to drain the fluid...

search block heater for 7510 and that has the diagram for the engine, the large plug is where the heater installs..

Good luck

I think the drain location is also in the owners manual under maitenance..
