Yes, you lose the hours. Some people write the hours on the back of the new cluster. You can put power to the old cluster, when it is off the tractor and see what the hours are. I do not recall which pins you would need to use.

Thanks for the info. I am just curious, could you not just get a aftermarket temp gauge, and mount it somewhere on tractor...and not have to fool with the hefty price of a new cluster and losing hours? I know it may not "look as good", but I thought I have seen people go that route. Just curious to your thoughts.

I just traded my 5310. I had the same issue with the fuel gauge. Replaced the sender and ultimately found out it was the cluster. The cluster for a 5310 is around $600. The guy that bought it from the dealer had that in the agreement so they changed it out for him. I suspect that is what your issue is. Your only option besides buying the cluster is to install a regular gauge somewhere and change the sensor completely. BTW, that was the best tractor I ever owned. I hated to get rid of it. Almost just kept it.

I see no reason you could not do what you are suggesting. Just make sure it works how I describe in my earlier post. I say this just in case all temp gauges do not operate the same way.
