If I had to guess, I would guess that the one with the horses is earlier than the 30's...although I know some farmers did use horses that late. I have never seen hay treated like the picture shows.

That's a version of a "beaver slide" to stack hay, common in Montana at least

Interesting pix. What are the numbers shown in some of the pix? Some kind of museum or display?

Yes inventory from the Roberts Ranch Museum in Imokollee , Fla .
