I haven't owned or used an electric shaver for 30 years but I think I'd like to try one again. I like the idea of a cordless. I'm not after a 'military shave'. Just something thats good, reliable, simple, and reasonably priced. Any suggestions?

(PS. How can you tell when your son has his first paying job?
Answer: A lot of fancy shaving gear starts appearing in the bathroom.).

I use a Phillips Norelco Arcitec, and it's the best I've ever used.

I've got a braun and sunbeam but they are corded. Ever since I went with the polish mohawk, My haircuts have been pretty much free.

On the 8th of this month, my Philips Norelco 7825XL was 9 years old. It cost me $102.74, including tax, and a year ago it quit holding a charge so on Jan. 4 I had a new battery installed at Dallas Shaver; $32.25, about half for the battery and half for the labor.

It's been a good one; still is, but I sure wonder about the cheaper Norelcos I see in the stores now.

The worst electric razor I ever used was the Remington I threw away when I bought the Norelco.

Years ago I had a couple of shavers with those 3 circular blades (either norelco or remington?) I then got a Braun foil razer and am now on my second one several years old and I really like it. The problem is with those whiskers just under the jaws that go every which way. The Braun does a good job on those, the other shavers did not.

Also, the Braun is easy to keep clean.

My records aren't near as good as Birds, but I think my latest Braun was $125 or so. Really cuts the daily time spent shaving compared to the old fashioned way.

Whatever you do get one with enough Horsepower for the acreage. Oh. Wait a minute that's for another thread. Or not.

I swore against electric shavers, UNTIL I got a Braun Pulsonic Shaver System, Silver as a gift.

I shaves as good if not better than a 7 blade shaver. Have you priced blades lately. It's like $35.00 a pack of 6 or 8 blades. Now no more blades and no more shaving cream and no more cuts.

With this thing I change the head once a year.

Now I swear by electric shavers.

I started with a foil shaver back in the 60's. Back then it was corded. Later I switched to a rotary 3 blade. Switched back to foil about 20 years ago. Because my face was breaking out with sores. My current is a Remington F5790.

Way back in the '60s I used a Schick foil razor and liked it better than anything I've seen since. I tried two different Remingtons before going to the Norelco.

One of the biggest problems I see is too many choices. Regardless of brand, there are several different models within each brand and I don't know how you tell which one would be best for you.
