I have two gardens each with 4 rows of old corn stalks (renters had garden and moved out). In the past, I would just cut and toss accross fence for cows to eat. In the past couple of years, I have seen many houses use for fall decorations and I'm thinking I could cut, load haywagon and spend a nice fall day setting on wagon and selling bundles for a resonable amount and make a few dollars for what I would have to spend time disposing of anyway. The rental house sets on a very busy road and has lots of parking area to use. Think this would work? Probably have several hundred of stalks.

go for it- what all you have to lose is some time. Halloween is getting to be a very big decoration holiday around here. My wife lives for October 1st- she refuses to decorate before then, but watch out when she does! we put up more stuff for Halloween than Christmas. She has lots of fun with it- so I indulge her. You may want to put a small classified ad in the local paper also.

Judging from the amount of times people used to STEAL corn stalks from my cornfields, there must be a demand for them. I planted enough corn to feed my cows through the winter, plus allowed enough extra for the cornstalk thieves, kids that just had to drive dads pick-up in to the edges of the fields while they were out drinking, and the deer/'coons. If I ended up with half a crop, I was doing good some years.

I used to work for a man who owned some greenhouses and he sold corn stalk's to the local farmer's market's and what not. We would have to cut and tie about 20 acres by hand. It was easier to cut down a row and then go back and bundle them up about 13-16 stalk's per bundle. Tie with baler twine one at the bottom and one about 2/3 of the way up. If you are going to sell them go out and buy some bales of straw to and sell them too.
