I have a row of corn that is enjoying the summer showers and sunshine. Soon we will enjoy some fat ears of corn

I have a few stalks growing in containers:

That's some nice looking corn. :corn: We buy ours as it's not worth the risk of attracting black bears :bear: to our garden. See on the news that for both eastern Canada and in the US it looks like a very poor corn crop due to drought. Thanks for posting the pics. :):):)

 There's nothing like fresh corn on the cob. Count your blessings, because many farmers and gardeners are experiencing severe drought. The morning news reported that 30% of the current corn production is ruined.

Enjoy!! My corn did not amount to anything. I got a few potatoes and we will see how the beans do. Onions did great, but that is it so far. Drought conditions around here.

My corn is about knee high. We revived about 1/2 inch of rain last night that will get it growing again after having no rain for almost 3 weeks. The potato's are growing good minus the battle with potato bugs. The creek where I get the water from for the garden was even to low to get and water out of. It is usually about 16 inches deep and it was down to about 6.

Corn here is very bad. Full grown plants with skinny ears. Not good, No rain for a month and a half.

They started harvesting sweet corn here in the last week of June; usual harvest about July fourth...wonderful crop this year. Lakngulf, beautiful crop! How do you get any pollination with a single row of corn? I used to raise a little when we had a big garden, but I usually planted a plot, maybe 30'X30' to get good pollenation, and the outside plants didn't do real well. We also planted a variety called "Early Sunglow" so it would mature early (late June) and miss the hot weather. We always buy a couple bushel right out of the field, and freeze it up the same day. Really good in the winter!

I guess I just got lucky with the pollination. I do know that the bees loved it. Already pulled up two separate rows that produced fairly well. I have lots of seed, so I plan to pull up four tomatoes out of big containers and try some corn in them as well. I love a good ear of fresh corn. Also, my mom makes corn cob soup....ever heard of it?

Here is a sample of the peaches and cream that we grew this year. It would have never of made it without watering.
