I've been trying to figure out how to adjust the piece I have pictured.

The manual doesn't explain well enough for me to understand how the adjustment works on this, so I figure I'd ask the experts of tractorbynet...

It appears to be an adjustment to regulate the height of the 3PH before the hydraulic pump goes into relief. Observe the lever while raising the 3PH to see what it does and how the hydraulic pump reacts.

If so, you'd back off the spring to make the 3PH lift higher, shorten it (screw in the nuts) to make it raise lower. It would likely be useful only if the top link hit the tractor when lifting some implement.

It also may set the automatic return of the lift lever to center if it is set up like a BX2200 - doesn't look like it though.

What is it you are trying to accomplish with the adjustment??

Well from what I gather from the manual it's suppose to limit the up/down travel of the 3pt hitch and belly mower. But when i adjusted the rear part of that adjustment, all it did was slow down the rate at which the 3pt hitch went down.

hello all,
If it's anything like L2500 it's a draft control that adjust drop force on the 3 pt hitch.
If you turn it in it should slow it down. If I understand my own draft control right??? It controls the amount of fluid flowing threw the 3pt system.

Hope this helps.

This may not be the solution.

Draft control generally comes off of the top link attachment point. It does look similar but that lever/spring would not efficiently activate a draft control function.

The drop force of the 3PH is usually adjusted by a valve whose function is controlled by a knob under, or near, the seat. It would not be effective if a wrench or two were needed. Plus, the lever is engaged after a certain amount of lift of the 3PH - it does not engage when lowering it.

The picture by the OP shows a rod attached to the 3PH vertical lift arm that would only engage after the 3PH reaches a certain point. That would also be useless for drop force.

In summary, it is not draft control and it is not the 3PH lowering control valve. As stated in post #3, it must be for adjusting the lifting range of the 3PH.

You have it correct ! It is used to limit the raise/lower travel and also return the 3pt lever to the center position if desired. Here is an old explaination of it as well on the B2620.

The lowering speed is usually controlled by the knob between your legs below the seat.

Good Luck ! :)

Thanks everyone for the input. And yes the speed at which it lowers seems to be controlled by the knob directly between my feet. I'll play around with the settings a little more. The instructions are lacking in this area so its going to be trial and error on my part, with you guys' help.

Thanks again!
