Foton 824
Hi everybody.

I have just purchased a second-hand Foton 824 and am having a few minor issues as I don稚 think that the loader is connected properly.

Basically the FEL is not hooked up to the main line it has been connected to the rear hydraulic splitter that are operated by the handles in the cab. I am sure that these are meant to be used for operating ploughs and PTO attachments not for using the FEL. For example I start up the tractor and try to operate the FEL, it will not work. If I pull one of the handles next to the PTO rear lifter it will operate, but this needs to be rigged up so it stays on permanently. This cannot be right, the FEL should always be on.

I have assessed the hydraulic lines and I can see any other connections except for the quick connect rear remotes. One of these is hooked into the main line, but I can稚 image that this is where the FEL loader should be connected.

Hopefully this is descriptive enough, if not let me know and I can get some pictures up and describe the issues with more depth. If anyone knows where the FEL should be connected on the Foton 824 I would be most appreciative.

Also if I disconnect this from the handle area splitter (multi way valve) what happens to the splitter as it will not have anything connected to these lines and I would assume Hydraulic oil would flow out everywhere???

Thanks in advance for your help for sunny Australia.

Cheers

Lemo

Hydraulics:
Type: open
Capacity: 4.5 gal [17.0 L]

Is there any reason that you can not add a joystick valve to the loader?

Since you have an open center hyd system, you can add valves in series.

Logically you would take the pump output and feed the FEL valve, and from the FEL PB, to the remotes, and from the remotes PB , to the 3pt.

Can you trace out the path of the hyd fluid from pump to tank?

Pictures might help.

You should not disconnect lines from a splitter. One line probably feeds the steering and the other line feeds the implement hydraulics.

Wow I can't believe a tractor as big as the 824 wouldn't have it's own pump for the steering, and also one in the rear axle or mid main body (tractors sump) for the 3 point and then a pump for the loader and power power beyond set up for the remotes??? Would FOTON actually employ a single pump and diverter for all those systems this is more like a really small chinese tractor ??? Isn't this an 80 hp tractor?

Hi,

I will get some pictures and try and describe where everything is going around the tractor.

As for the HP yes it is a 82HP tractor.

Thanks

This first picture is the Loader quick connects and link into the tractor Hydraulic system. There are three main lines that come off the bottom right one is closed off as shown in the next picture. The other two main lines flow back to the rear of the tractor.

Closed off line not sure why this line exists?? any ideas would be great.

This above picture is the spliter line that the Loader is connected into. from Left to right. First one is the loader line. The second is for one of the two rear remotes. The third line in the main in out.
both of the outlets here run off leavers operated in the cab. Both of these show pictures of moving around rear PTO attachments not switching on the loader. I note that to operate the loader you have to hold on the lever as it is desiged to move back to a centre position on the tractor i.e. it is for moving things on large implemtes up and down or left and right i.e. hydraulic wheels.

This final picure shows the levers coming out of the cab there are three. the first one is for the PTO up and down the second is currectly on the Loader (i.e first off the spliter) the third is the second rear remote (second off the spliter).

So in summary The only other link into the main line I can find is the first rear remote, therefore I am thinking that I should attach quick connects to the end of the loader line and then attaching the loader to the first rear remote. Then with the lever operated one that it is currently on I think I should also put quick connects and then I can use it as needed with PTO attachments.

So there you have it hopefully that is enough info for you all to give me your input.

Thanks in advance and also thanks to people that have already posted.

I think the capped off hose is attached to the power beyond outlet on FEL control valve. It's difficult to diagnose unknown type hyd systems over the internet but I'm guessing the hyd control valve is not hooked in series but teed into system and flow must be blocked off for pressure to reach loader control valve. Where does return hose from FEL valve attach to tractor?

In picture 3 what does that banjo fitting hook to? It's on the left side of the valve and the hard line next to it. If it bolted to the valve, where does it go to. If it goes to the sump you well have a few lines to change and hook up the PB line. This tractor is open center hyd. isn't it?

Can you also get a couple pictures of the front of the engine on both sides, this looks like 1 of two pumps normally facing each other on the front engine coverFoton 824 hydraulics.jpgthis is a (cropped) picture of the top picture in your post- Thinking another pump is mounted on the same axis?? Just trying to nail down the hydraulic supply pump(s) You may also want to post your questions on CTOA in addition to here and add this, to the tractor by net (chinese tractor forum) someone may have this model and help, also, JJ does know hydraulics

All thank you very much for your replies. After much review and getting out a box of parts that came with the tractor I have figured out what is meant to happen and have nearly got it sorted out.

The previous owner has disconnected two rear remotes and hooked them into the FEL. I just needed to disconnect the FEL from the banjo fitting mentioned above and also the splitter, re attach the disconnected banjo fitting (founf is a box) and two quick connects.

Then take the FEL leads over to the main line quick connects and simply put the quick connects on to the rear main remotes.

Only problem is they have also changed on of the fittings on the spitter so I need to go buy a replacement for that.

Wow for an accountant I will be a tractor mechanic in no time.

Thanks for your replies and I will post some more pics up once I get it all reconnected

Cheers

Ben
