This is a clarification of the previous similarly titled post. I am pretty much set on fertilizer selection and correction of soil pH. What I do not know is what is the best 3-pt implement to use. The turf is uneven in spots, lots of old moss, multiple varietys of grasses and weeds. Total acreage about 1/2.

Thanks, John

You probably want an aerator. Unless you're going to rip it all up and start over it will take some time. 3PH aerators are expensive - for 1/2 acre, rent one. You'll be able to get it done in a few hours.

If that won't do it in your mind, then you'll need to rip it all up and start over. In that case you'd want a ripper, plow, or something like that, followed by a tiller or cultivator (maybe a disk), and finally a box blade to smooth it out.

Not sure there are many options in between. If so, I'd love to hear 'em. My lawn is great, but sure is bumpy (especially after the neighbors bull got in for an afternoon of grazing /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif).
