Welcome to TBN first of all........

Several members have purchased from Corriher, and seem pleased. Just remember any service/warranty work will have to be done locally at your dealer. Those units purchased out of state may be last on the lot for service. Just something to consider.

I Bought a tiller from Corrihers & they were great to deal with, but to repeat what Inspector507 told you, I would be concerned about a local dealers enthusiasm for my warranty work. How would you feel if you were in the dealers place? Service work may be very profitable, but I'd doubt warranty work is.

I've purchased implements from Corriher's and they are great. The prices are low, the quality is high. I did get a quote from them on a tractor. My local dealer had a price that was within pennies of the the Corriher price. But I admit that I had to beat on the local dealer a little bit and Corriher was a no hassle low quote.

I would say that by reputation and from my personal experience Corriher's is very reputible and great to deal with.

NHinKansas,

Welcome to TBN, /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

I haven't bought anything from Corriher, but have talked to them several times, they always get back with you and will answer any questions you have.

One thing you might want to try is take that price to the local dealer and see if the will come close or match it /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Good luck with your decision.

Just curious? How do you plan on taking care of the freight charges from North Carolina to Kansas? Doesn't that cause Corriher to be much more expensive than a local dealer?

That is a great question, and let me say that when I got a quote from Corriher's on a TC24D this past summer, I also got several local quotes on similar tractors as well as a local quote on a TC24D. All the local quotes were about $1200 to $1500 higher than Corriher's, but Corriher's had shipping charges, and if I recall, those charges ran about $600. So there was a "real price gap" of $600 to $900 with Corriher's being cheaper, even after shipping. A local NH dealer, 9 miles to my west, after being beaten down with a wiffle ball bat and several large goose down pillows lowered his price and ended up being in line with Corriher's. The same dealer, on a couple other deals, also quoted high prices the first time, but after some follow up phone calls, he always came in with a very competitive price. Another local dealer, 5 miles to my east, would not budge on his prices and always ended up highest prices and always lost the sale.

From what I can tell, some dealers will deal and others will not.

I used the same tactic as Bob. I got all my prices including Corriher's. I then went back to my local dealers to see who would be willing to deal. I ended up saving some bucks as a result of negotiating and still bought from a local dealer.

I took the quote from Corriher's and took it to the large NH dealer 20 miles away, and they matched their price. I then took that to the smaller dealer 5 miles from my house, and after much persuasion, he matched their price. I ended up buying my tractor from my local dealer, but Corriher's has excellent communication and they work hard to please their customers. They sell a lot of large items on Ebay, and they have 100% positive feedback.

Their shipping costs are very low, and most times their prices are so low, you still save money with shipping costs included. I bought my finish mower from them. It cost me $75 to ship it from NC to Ohio, but that was to have it shipped to the dock where I work, which saves a few bucks.

Your must be in an area where they expect their margins to be much higher. Around my area (central PA) I would be laughed at if there was that kinda difference in price between me and anyone else.

I am not sure about Corrier in particular, but I do known that manufacturers are cracking down on dealers who do this. (specificy kubota). Its now a violation of your contract to ship anything via light truck. Everythng must be assembled and delivered by the dealer.

In defense of your local dealers, you would be very surprised how much the cost of a tractor can vary depending on location and setup of your dealership.
