I'm considering bidding at an auction next week, on a '15 NH WorkMaster 33 (HST, 4x4, OROPS, 69" QA bucket) - 11 hours.
The only downside to this thing (other than other bidders making it cost a lot) to me is that it's got turf tires, and while I do have grass around here, I'd slide everywhere right now, and my main use of the tractor won't be in grass anyhow.

How much would it cost to swap tires on that? I believe the rears are 43x16.00-20, front 25X8.50-14; do tire dealers take trade-ins when they're practically new tires? :) Also - how much to fluid fill them? Round numbers are fine, of course, just a general ballpark like "between buying new R4/Ag tires (I'm not sure which would be better for me yet) and craigslisting the 11 hour turf tires, you're looking at a net of $1500" or whatever.

Thanks!

Tires are out of sight. Next, some of the newer sizes only come from one mfgr....Titan. Just went through it the other way...F4s to F3s. Fill charts are on the www as to size and gallons.

Wheels may be different and then need the correct size for the 4wd ratio.

Quite honestly - I'd wait and see how the turf tires are going to work for you. If you get the tractor. New tires - possibly new rims also - and Rim Guard in the new rears IS going to be expensive.

I can not relate to your tire size but mine are: front - 9.5-24, 6PR & rear - 16.9-28, 6PR. At the local tire dealer(Les Schwab) new front tires were $175-$225 each and new rears were right around $800 to $900 each. New rims - I have no idea. Rim Guard - my rear tires hold 67 gallons each = 134 gallons total. A good average price for Rim Guard is $2.50/gallon plus whatever they will charge to fill them. You will want to check on the Rim Guard price at your location - I've heard prices on TBN as high as $4.50/gallon.

I priced this combination three or four years ago and it was for Titan, Firestone & Goodyear brands.

I would wait and see too.^^^

While turf tires may not be ideal for your uses these new tires may work much better than you think. Could be well enough to get by without the expense of swapping. Those turf tires on the tractor are well suited for the 33 hp. tractor imo.

That is if you wind up with it.

May not look great, but could probably get by with just swapping the back tires. You might find someone with similar tractor that would like to have your setup, but most people want to go the way you do (turfs to something more aggressive).

My BIL purchased a similar sized Kubota with turf tires;they work a lot better than expected.I would try them for a while. You would have to purchase rims and tires.

Welcome to TBN.............................

If the turf tires are 43x16.00-20 the R4's are the same size and same rims. They will take 38-39 gallons to fluid fill them. Turfs I looked up show 41x14-20 but 43x16-20 R4's fit same rims.
Front tires also take same rims going turf to R4's.
If you switch from turfs to R1 Ag tires you need to buy rims and tires. Don't know cost of tires but they are expensive.
Dealer may take turfs on trade but won't give you much for trade in. You might make more selling them outright.

I bought the 2400 and sought to correct the harsh ride. One of the problems was the tires were R4s, rears were 6 ply with a heavy sidewall. Even at very low pressures they were harsh. I went with the correct sized Turf from Titan with 4 plies rather than 6 but still had a somewhat harsh ride due to stiff sidewalls....feel that the 16.5" rim dia is what is putting the tires in the heavy duty, industrial category for stiff sidewalls.

Anyway, the 4 plies did help as did the larger air volume in absorbing shocks better. I too was surprised that the Titan turf 33x12.5x16.5 (direct match for the 12x16.5 R4) that listed for about $500 cost me $290 each delivered to my Titan dealer on a truckload with other tires so I paid no freight and with farm exemption, no tax. They work as good as my R4s on traction and with the front still in R4s if I do any slipping, a little 4wd action and away I go.

I tried fluid filling but at the low pressures I run I couldn't keep it in and keep the tires locked to the wheels....slick, new, painted wheels and low tire pressures, plus liquid makes for tire to wheel slipping with any kind of traction request. So I found some weights that would fit my wheels and with a little adaptation, put them on. Working good so far.

You could place an ad on the ford/new holland forum and you might find someone who wants to save their yard and would swap wheels with you if you did buy the tractor.
