PRV Install Fail : County Water Pressure Too High

Installed a Watts PRV yesterday and **** if the threaded coupler and PRV are both leaking. The coupler is dripping from the O-ring union at the water meter and the PRV is dripping from rubber gasket where the cover attaches, see picture. Both drips are very slow but not something I feel acceptable and is irritating as I even went as far as applying food grade silicon grease on the O-rings to ensure they set properly. Everything is as tight as I can get them without breaking something (maybe to tight?) Should I give it a few days and see if they stop, shut the water off and disassemble and apply a sealant or do one of you have another method that has worked for you.

In the case of the O ring make sure you didn't pinch it when you did the reassembly, it's easy to do. As far as the connection to the meter, did you use teflon paste? I see you used tape on the other fittings but I find teflon paste to work much better on pipe fittings.

At the meter that's generally a flat rubber washer no need for tape or paste because the water should never get past the washer. It shouldn't leak even if just snugged up by hand ( dry no silicone ) maybe you were able to squash it to much with the lube on it. If it still leaks after you tighten it a little more just get another washer an be care full it stays centered. As for the PVR gasket I've never taken one apart so can't comment why it leaking.

Who needs a pressure washer with that kind of power at the faucet.

Thanks - I did save the old washer and it is definitely flat, the coupler the local plumbing supply sold me as a match definitely has an o-ring washer. As you can see I had very little room in the existing meter box so I had to get the shortest fittings. I may try the old flat washer in the new coupler and see if that fixes it, I just checked again and the PRV leak seems to have resolved itself.
