Most of these units use almost same gear box probably from china. But for the abuse I have put some of these thru they work pretty well for price of these units. most have shear bolt protection on driveline. keep a check on oil in box as when they leak out of output seal hard to tell check bolts on gear box also they come losse.

County Line is TSC's private label line of implements made by King Kutter or Tarter, depending on which TSC warehouse supplies the store. Like Rocky said I don't believe any manufacturer uses a gearbox that is not from China. It has a stump jumper, use it as a light duty cutter and it should work fine. Start cutting above 1-2" stuff and it won't last long.

Most of the heavy duty cutters from places like Bush Hog, Woods, Shulte use Italian gear boxes. The Chinese gear boxes seem to hold up just fine unless your pushing the limits of your rotary cutter daily.

Good thing about the Chinese gearbox is you can replace for about$200. I get about 400-500 hours out of them and I cut some pretty tough stuff.
