Is the Countyline Rotary cutter from TSC any good? Who makes them?

To my eye? It sure looks like a King Kutter.

TSC has used KK and Tarter for many of their implements.

My KK 5' Mower was junk and only lasted 3 seasons. I bought a Caroni 6' mower and its now its 6th season and still operates and looks brand new.

I would pass if you are going to depend on it. Do a search of this site about County Line and King Kutter and you will see very mixed reviews at best.

Use the web. Pull up a photo of a KK and the TSC rebranded CountyLine. You tell me?

As for quality issues? There are fans of the KK here and those who dislike them. Like about everything else in life, I guess. There are good priced "values", there are things that are either over priced or cheap "losers" but most of the time, "you get what you pay for".

I bought mine to clear 4 acres and it easily handles inch to inch and a half saplings. No opinion on anything larger. Haven't tried. I've beat the **** out of it on large rocks and fallen trunks. I got a good sized rock caught between the blade and deck and gave her a nice swirling dent around the deck. The sheet metal is a little thin and it could use to have chains or other debris deflection.

But...

It pulls just fine. It shreds just fine. it does what I bought it to do with relative ease. I guess I have lower expectations than most regarding equipment like this.

I didn't buy it to look pretty. I bought it to reclaim some land. When we do build, I will be a little more selective on finish mowers than I was for this. Good luck with whatever you decide.

*edit* If you google the part number seen on tractor supplies website (L-60-40-P-YK) several vendors list it as a king kutter.

If you are just mowing grass then I think they are fine. A friend of mine has one and it works well for that use. If there are ANY bushes, branches, saplings, or anything that will put up a fight, I'd get a heavier duty machine. I had a woods light duty for years, and it's heavier than the KK/TSC, and mowing heavier stuff still beat the daylights out of it. The KK/TSC would hold up even worse. But for grass, they are a great buy.

I have the six foot version made by Tarter. I use it to mow fields for my pastured poultry operation. The shell gets dinged up a bit when hitting rocks or old fence posts, however it only appears to be superficial.

I have the KK 5 footer and I believe it is nearly identical to the TSC Countyline model. I use mine in a field that has no rocks, stumps or other heavy debris and it works great. I don't think it would hold up very well in the rough stuff but for light-medium duty it is a good product for the price.
