NH Boomer 35
First off, I am going to go an pick up a 2013 Boomer 35 for what I think is a great price this coming Monday. It is used and the dealer said the warranty is transferable so that is what sold me on it. It is also alreay equipped with the joystick and Q connects for the hydraulics. So, first question.

1. What brand of 72" 3pt mower do you all think seems to cut the nicest? Around here just about any used model is fairly easy to find. Im leaning toward a Woods. Even if it only has the rear two bogey wheels I dont care because I will make it into a 4 bogey wheel deck. I previously had a Bush Hog brand ATH600 for my B2400 I just recently sold and I really didnt care for the quality of cut. Build wise, it was a tank.

2. Who actually had a 240tl loader on their NH? I would like to continue to ask many measurement questions as I am going to build my own loader. This will be my 3rd loader built. Been welding/fabbing for 20 yrs so Im pretty good at it as I run my own welding shop too. I am having a difficult time finding actual dimensions for stuff i need. So first thing I need is cylinder dimensions so I can get them on order. Bore X stroke?

thx so much everyone for your inputs.

Corey

Last January I bought a used Sitrex SM-150 finish mower for $470, which is a 5ft unit. It's got dull blades on it now, but even still it gives a very nice cut, and runs pretty quiet to boot. These mowers have four gauge wheels to help avoid scalping. If you can find a used 6ft unit, give it a look.

Thx, Tom. But what he builds is pretty small stuff. I know how to design the loader. I just really would like to find out mainly what bore/stroke the cylinders are for a 240tl or equivalent loader as I don't want it to operate too slow. Or size them just a hair too small and loose lift capacity. From pictures they appear to be a 2" bore but there is no documentation online from NH.

I just noticed you have a similar size tractor. A bit bigger, but none the less. What is the bore/stroke for the cylinders on your loader. Then I can compare hydraulic pump specs with yours and my boomer for GPM flow.

I have a Woods PRD 7200, well built and does a nice job with Gator G6 blades. It is very smooth and quiet.

I've read the 2 reviews on the forum and one was negative on that deck. But did you notice the G6 blades make a big improvement? I'll take that review with a grain of salt as it seems I've never heard Woods make a bad product until I read that review.

I'm very familiar with them. Indeed very nice people and very good customer service. I wasn't looking to buy new as there are a few RD7200's on Craigslist for less than half new. Just wanting people opinions on makes and models in the 72" decks on cut quality. My ATH600 would always leave a 1-2" uncut trail during turn around.

BTW, I'm getting a bit excited to go pick up my Boomer. Never owned a NH but many satisfied owners though. I've always had Kubota's up until now.
