Couple of bird pics.

Great pics -- you must have a zoom lens. I gave up on getting bird pics with my standard camera, as they usually split before I can get into range. We have a lot of bald eagles, and could potentially get some great pictures just opening a window or door, but they are super vigilant, and will fly off at the slightest noise. Sometimes they split when I crack open a door, before I can even stick a foot out.

s219 I know exactly where your coming from I miss a lot of good pics. trying to get a door or window open so now I first take it through the window then try and sneak out side. If you can get a clear pic. with no blur the computer will blow them up real well many of my pics are taken with no zoom because I don't get time.

Those are more great photos at the link you sent Bill. Is that a bobcat you caught in a live trap? I also like the one of the sleeping baby evening grosbeak.

I'm attaching a photo of a yellow-headed blackbird. It's one of those taken through the window to capture an interesting moment. We thought we had the feeders set so these guys would not knock out all the seeds, but this one figured it out. Makes my groin ache just looking at it!

Those yellow headed black birds are very pretty we don't get any of the valley birds up here on the mt. side except for a pair California quail moved up here last summer.
Yes that is a live trap I built to catch dogs up here chasing wild life for the dog catcher. Anything else we caught was a bonus chance for pics. before turning loose. I'm sure there are a few thou. wild life pics. I haven't loaded to Photo bucket. BTW that goat got away from a neighbor as a youngster and lived on the mt. wild for 20 yr. before disappearing last winter.

That mountain thrush pair is nice- we don't get them here on the east coast unless they are strays. Another name for that bird is the varied thrush. Wonderful photographs!
When we came to Maine, evening grosbeaks were pretty common year round. Now I rarely see or hear them. One bird I miss.
Love the pics.

Nice pics. If I did this right there should be a pic of a hawk on our fence.View attachment 408519 Not the best picture, so I circled the hawk to help.
