Thought I would finally get around to posting a couple of pictures. This first picture is of the extra lights I mounted on the canopy. I ran the wires inside the canopy “pipes” because I frequently put my hand on these pipes to brace myself on hills or to just rest my arm. I first drilled a hole for the wires at the top of the canopy in the right pipe. Then I took the canopy off, turned it upside down, and drilled a hole in the bottom plate at an angle. Then I flipped the canopy back over, tied a small screw to a piece of fishing line, and pushed the screw through the hole I drilled at the top of the canopy. The screw fell to the bottom and I then used the fishing line to pull through the wires. I attached the wires to the existing light switch and, so far, everything is working fine. These lights make a lot of difference and I definitely recommend this modification.

This is a picture of the Engine Aire precleaner. This setup also accepts the larger air filter that is available the 25HP Kohlers (I also use the larger oil filter that is available). Checking the filter and, more importantly, the condition of the oil, I believe this setup makes a big difference. However, I also think it robs a little power as it definitely restricts the air flow. Overall, a reasonable tradeoff, especially if one mows in an area that creates a lot of chaff and dust (you can tell from the condition of the engine that I definitely work in a lot of dust).

If you look close, you can see the slit in the side of the precleaner. The air comes in the bottom of the precleaner, hits some vanes, which creates a swirl inside the precleaner. The swirl creates a centrifugal force for the particles which, hypothetically anyway, exit through the slit.

I have also noted the position of the governor spring. This position ensures maximum sensitivity for the governor.

And finally, a picture of the spinner knob. Will try to get some pictures of the new RPM/Hour guage and my great earth moving project when the weather gets better.

Nice pictures!. I had a question about the wires. That's the same way I wanted to run mine. When you took off the ROPS, I take it you drilled a hole in the side of the tractor where the ROPS mounts as well?

That’s correct Moss.

Once I put everything back together, I realized that I really should have also used a plastic bushing or extra tape around the wires to protect them from vibration. The holes I drilled end up with sharp edges that could create problems later on. Further, I did not use any extra fuses, although I assume to lights already are fuse protected. I think I will shoot the holes full of clear chalking to stabilize the wires.

Sounds like a good idea to use the caulking.

I bought a fuse block and switches. I will use that to run the lights. Someday, I might even hook it all up /w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif

Hans, I think you've had that camera about a year now and no pictures. Why don't you dig it out and give it a try. We will certainly help walk you through it. We've all been waiting a long time to see some of your pictures. If you want, send me a private email with your questions.
