Last week posted about difficulty in reattaching my grapple due to excessive pressure in the connectors. Many responded, thanks, but have now come up with a sure fire way to relieve pressure without a hammer or other excessive measures. At the Lowes store they are doing away with Bessy(the very BEST clamps) and found a 4" split C clamp. This is where the clamp frame opposite the screw is split, like a claw hammer. Take your ag coupler and fit in this claw and screw down till plunger is depressed. BUT MAKE SURE you wrap with a shop towel first(I didn't) but you learn. This is for the male side, on the female side I cut a 1.5" 1/4 dowel to use as a plunger as clamp screw would'nt fit down enough. Did'nt really use the dowel though as enough pressure was relieved from the male side to allow an easy coupling. Clamp cost about $6.
