2009 Mahindra 3316 HST-2008 Mahindra 7010 cab - 2004 Mahindra 6000 4X4
As I described in a previous post, the pin that holds the steeering actuator to the frame of the tractor fell out due to the roll pin backing out on my 6000 4x4. The dealer must be getting tired of fooling with me because he has raised his service call charge $15 each time he has come out to look at my tractor. First time it was $45 then $60 and this time $75. All in a time span of less than a year. Each time I have had the basic servicing done and had him fix the starting at the key. One time it was a ground cable, next time a bad connection caused by how he installed the box to run my twine tie on my roller, and now he says the starter is bad and he'll have one in 2 weeks. First 2 weeks is a long time to get parts for anything! Second he said the pin and bushings for the actuator will not be covered under the warranty. What do you think? I think he, myself, and Mahindra out to be **** lucky nothing bad happened due to the pin falling out and not finding themselves named in a lawsuit. I see it as poor qaulity workmanship and/or parts. I will be trading tractors to get a cab in the next year or so and with service like this I don't see doing buisiness with him or Mahindra /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif. Heck of a way to treat a customer who spent $45,000 with him last year. Geuss he figures I've got everything I'll be buying for a while. WRONG!

It sounds like you have had a bad experience. I don't know if it a bad dealer or manufacture. Have you called Mahindra to see if your dealer is BSing you?

You are definitely being "taken" for a ride down the perverbial path of B.S. I know for a fact that Mahindra stands behind their product 110% and maybe even that figure is a bit understated. Your grounding problem was a recall item that I'm surprised many of the forum participants weren't/aren't aware of. Initially, they ran the negative battery terminal to a mounting screw on the front grill. Mahindra's answer to this was to provide a star washer that would at least scratch the paint to get a marginal ground at the best. My dealer contacted me when he got the notice to this recall and sort of chuckled to Mahindra's fix. My dealer is 210 miles away at the time I bought my machine so he suggested that if I was willing to do it right, he would pay for the cable and my time. The proper fix was to run a 6awg stranded cable(approx 42" long on my 4500 right to a mounting bolt on the starter housing). Cost to me was $6.50 and 15 minutes of labor....bid deal. I don't understand why Mahindra settles for a quick low budget fix when they are replacing starters and alternators due to this simple and easy/cheap to fix problem. I'm not sure how Mahindra reimburses the dealers for their service calls but that's his problem and not yours. I never would have paid the first bill and I'd report the low life to Mahindra NOW. As for the drift pin falling out of the steering actuator - that is definitely a Mahindra problem and they should actively pursue this problem BIGTIME before an injury takes place. Talk about a lawsuit and I'm not even a lawyer. If you take a passive attitude with your dealer on this - he will only continue to take advantage of your meek attitude. Mess with me once - shame on you, mess with me twice and shame on me for being the fool. Good Luck and keep the rest of us informed of the outcome.

Some history, I just bought a used mahindra 4110 under a month ago (from a New Holland Dealer), it had 5 months left on a 2yr warranty, the pto shaft has a wobble when using it, possible it has a bend in it, almost impossible to see with your eye.
Called the Mahindra dealer, yesterday my 4110 was picked up by my dealer to repair my PTO, today after looking at it he said the shaft needed replacement and that it was not covered under warranty because of abuse????(previous owner????) and gave me a by the book 14 hr repair & $800.00 dollar estimate. I don't have a problem with my dealer, with my few contacts with this dealer I have always come away satisified, just today we disagreed. I called the Home office, 1-800-887-2286, told them the whole story-they agreed 100% that it was covered under warranty- Home office called the dealer, I got a call 20 min later from the dealer- Warranty Repair- the tractor will be ready Monday. I agree with Clyde, Mahindra does back their tractors 110% maybe you should call the home office you might be surprised at the response you get- I was.

Mahindra says every mechanical part on the tractor is covered under warranty. They say they have had a few instances with the steering pin and the design has been changed from a roll pin to a bolt witha lock nut. Furthermore they are warranting the starter instead of changing solenoid. I also mentioned the trouble I have had with loader joystick and they are supposed to warranty the whole joystick instead of just replacing the joints.
After talking to the owner of the shop I feel much better. He said his service guy just doesn't like coming down this far. I have always tried to make it worth their while to come fix my tractor by allowing them to service it while they were here and paying the service call. In the future I will pick up the filters or order them on the net and do it myself. I still have a bad taste in my mouth from this experience. I geuss my grandma was right when she used to say "no good deed goes unpunished".
