I added a pipe over the cutting edge of my snow blower today. It has a good adjustable shoes, but anyone that blows or plows knows that you get into soft stuff sometimes. If I hit my gravel drive or roadway out front with that slanted hardened cutting edge it would be a bad thing. I bought a normal 2" I.D. schedule 80 plow pipe from my local machine shop and widened out their pre-slotted opening out to about 13/16". Then hog'd out clearance holes for the cutting edge bolts. Same type pipe I have on my front blade on my 420. The pipe generally protect the blade or blower from digging into the gravel. Most plow trucks up here in God's country run the same pipe. It's not fool proof, but really should help... We'll see how she does later in the winter...
