Covington planter / cultivator?

Looking at purchasing covington 1 row planter. Is there an advantage to a Pittsburgh cultivator frame over the other type of frame planter is available on?

The Pittsburgh frame is much stronger and should handle 2 planting units.
I used to have a 2r with side dress fertilizer hopper.
Made some really nice corn with that setup.
