I'd like to share a video with you. I've lived around coyotes most of my life and I find it interesting that some people are not comfortable knowing that they may be around. I find coyotes very shy. This week they were carrying on, up by a gate whose lock I had to thaw at 10PM. They shut up as I approached and all I saw were tracks. Don't get me wrong, I believe all wild animals should be respected and I don't go out of my way to encounter them. I also understand why livestock farmers can't be as laid back as I am. On the local food chain I'd put coyote below either of the two eagles I saw last week. They were very impressive.
I cross coyote paths daily (and nightly) in the winter but until this morning I've never had a chance to get a decent picture.
Here's a video of one that has a trail not 10' from my bedroom window. The video was taken around 7:30 AM today from the second story of the house I am building. She scrams because my wife could not hold still and wait for her to get closer.
At my previous home the events you are about to see would have been reported in the local paper as a "human vs coyote confrontation".
