HI! guys,

Last week I discovered a disconcerting crack in the plastic above my cab door. We just came out of a really cold period, and nothing had hit the cab as tractor was just sitting through the cold snap after we got 2.5' of snow days prior. Here are pictures of me using a plastic stitching tool from Amazon prep and painting it all. Took me most of the weekend to finish, as a new cab top runs $1300-$1500 ouch. Discovered the problem as in fact a QC problem when tractor got assembled at factory, the cab top bolt holes didn't quite line up with mounts holes on left side where crack was. So there was a tension in the cab top, and when we got this cold snap.....vibrations from using it you name it made it pop. Probably could have been a warranty option, but my 2 years bumper to bumper is over. So instead of bitching and whining about it, I'm a solutions kinda guy.

all fixed and ready. At least you have a nice place to get it out of the weather.

Very cool. I'd never seen one of these stitching tools for plastic. How did you actually seal or fill the length of the crack after you placed the staples / stitches to hold it together.

Very neat -- I have several items that I might be able to stabilize by stitching them back together.

The repair looks really good! Are you satisfied with it? Can you mention which tool you purchased? I did a quick search and some units are 120V plug-in and others are cordless (DeWalt 20V battery compatible, for example.)

Thanks for posting!
