Cracked Rim

Found this on my JD 4600 today. Any suggestions as to why a rim would crack like this and best way to fix?

I think you're looking at the non-welded side of the weld seam... Rims are a rolled ring that's welded together to make a circle It is kinda unsightly, but unless air really is leaking out at the "crack", it's probably not an issue at all, and not a crack.

Too straight to be a crack, it's gotta be the seam, as mentioned. The rust indicates that it's flexing enough to cause some abrading, if it's not losing too much air or ballast in a tubeless tire, just let it be until the next time the tire is off, then prep it and weld it. They really should have done both sides from the get go, guess they could save 15 minutes labor by skipping it.
