Craftsman GT 18 Lawn Tractor

I have a Sears 18 HP tractor Hydro, with a 44 inch mower deck. I bought it in 1996. Until recently it has been bulletproof. Lately I can't keep drive belts on it,any suggestions greatly appreciated.

might be late to this post, but here goes. are they belts from sears? or just belts u bought elsewhere? when u say drive belts are u talking mower belts or motion belts. check to see that all belts are routed properly and not rubing and that tension pullies are working correctly.

Motion belts. I had several replies prior to the "Big Meltdown" and it appears I have some pullies to replace. and some realignment to do. I have been using aftermarket (Gates) belts, very heavy duty. Thanks for the info.
