I have an ingersoll-rand, and let me tell you that with a 1/4" hose, its power is drastically reduced. Use a 3/8" hose minimum, and you will be amazed at the difference.
I also used to courier our customers nailers back to stanley-bostich for warranty repairs. Talking to an old-timer who seemed to be the only guy actually fixing the guns, 99% of problems with nailguns are caused by people either using the wrong oil, or no oil.
