The front wheels on this ZTR model 107.27788 (44") or model 107.27790 (50") have bushings and not bearings which will wear out if not greased each time and/or in a sandy area. The owner's manual and Sears parts direct manual does not show the bushings (2 for each wheel). I had to call Sears - The bushing part number is 1739281YP. Also make sure you check the tube (caster wheel spacer) #7035359SM which is listed in the manual.

You do not have to buy the entire wheel as the manual shows for $77.

To check if you need to replace the bushings and spacer, jack up the front wheels and check for excessive wobble. The tube just pulls out and bushing can be punched out from the opposite side.

I don't know why the wheels would not have bearings. ??
