Those are scams, not tractors cheap.
I looked at one advertised in Sacramento. $4200 for a nice new Deere, 100 or so hours, factory hoe, scraper, mower, and loader. The backhoe was worth more than the whole package.
I replied... Person said it was located in Montana, was packed and ready to ship. He was military, with only three days left till shipping out to the middle east, Afghanistan.
I have a cousin in Montana; told him I would want my tractor experience cousin to look at it, and I would deal cash. Store it at my cousins for a few weeks till I could get back there to pick it up.
He said no, it had to go through Ebay/paypal. And, it was already packed to ship, so no one could see it.
Scam scam scam. And implicating himself as a member of the US Armed Forces. For shame.
All the prices and descriptions of these tractors seem to be in a form letter used for the ad, and for the reply.
I have seen at least a dozen in Northern California in the last week.
These always seem to be the same premise.
I can't understand why people don't realize no matter what the situation is, they could easily get a lot more money than that.
