I know there was another craigslist thread, but I dont know where its at and it had hundreds of posts already.

But I though you guys might enjoy this one

360 sf Crusty Old Barn Roof Metal

360 sf, around 18 pieces 10-6 long x 2 foot wide and old rusty cap metal all for $400. Came off an old barn we salvages. it is used with holes and rust and old green paint but still really cool for an old looking remodel or crafts.

New metal siding is under $1 per sq ft. This stuff for $1.11:confused2: I guess I need to go buy a bunch of metal, punch holes in it, bury it in the dirt and let it rot for a year, and then re-sell for ~50% profit:laughing:

And for some reason, I just have a gut feeling that this guy will find someone stupid enough to buy it all:mur:

Could be... I have seen stuff in restaurants used for art or decorations, that look like it came from my scrap pile.

Now be careful, MotorSeven used old tin in his house build, looks right nice too. I don't recall seeing any holes in his tin, however. :)

And I don't imagine he paid 1.11 / sf ft either

Hey! You failed to mention the heavier gauge and sturdiness of the old metal, versus the new flimsy crap you get today at the building supply, right?? Also, if you use it only for walls on your TRACTOR shelter, a few nail holes ain't gonna matter. Holes only matter if you're using it for a roof! Use the new stuff for your roofing. Old stuff for the walls, to hold up against strong winds. That's what I do, anyway . . . . . Plus, no one's gonna pay him the full asking price!

Good grief... and to think when we tore down our 300' x 80' barn covered in this gold, I mean tin, we just gave it away so someone would take it... If we had only known it was worth so much we could have rebuilt the barn and bought a new tractor!

Perhaps some wealthy "City Slicker" is looking for that certain Rustic look on his new air conditioned Horse Barn?:)
