We use a debit card only and have been for at least the past 15 years. I guess I like the fact that you have to have the cash up front to make the purchase. Our bank offers to link your savings account to the checking account so if you run short they automatically transfer from the savings. I DISABLED THIS FEATURE. My concern is that if my debit card is stolen they can clean out my checking AND my savings. I usually keep only a 1,000 or so in checking and transfer from savings as needed.
I linked my debit to a credit card for the same reason. If by some chance I make a mistake the credit card covers it. Its a nice feature but one I still don't want to use.
