Crimp specs. whats the tolerance?

Okay, the black plate is coming. Put a pressure gauge on the press. Pump until you get to 3kpsi. A lot of Napa's were crimping until the plate hit the stops and stopped there. Those plates, even as thick as they are, will flex. You need to go to 3kpsi. You need to plow right into the stop. This is why you had .004" difference, plate flex. H42506 should be crimped to .795" give or take I believe .005". Any more, you probably have a worn collet. There are quite a few places that sell Weatherhead imitations, one of them being a place mentioned on this site quite frequently. I won't say their name, dhh. I have the ends and hoses in my shop that blew off the first time pressure was applied. Lots of places tell you their stuff will work in the Weatherhead press. Some of it may, I choose not to take the chance. Buy whatever you like, I don't make anything from it anyway, just please don't tell me if it's not Weatherhead stuff. Especially here on the 'net, putting it in writing, if you tell me it's another brand, I can't help you. I'm glad we understand each other now as I'm sure you're a good person. Also, this does not mean we are going steady now.
