I have never cared much for Steve's show but I might have been a little too critical of him. I wasn't there. There might have been other voices telling him what to do and he got caught up in the moment. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

It is sad. I just hope all the flack brings him and his crew back to the real world before anyone gets hurt.

Evel was-is an adrenalin junkie for sure. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif I wonder how many bones he'd have broken if they'd had the extreme motorcycle stuff going on now back then. These kids today are unbelievable. One has to wonder if he was the athelete it takes to compete now. No doubt on his desire or heart mind you.

Everyone seems to think MJ is solely responsible for his alleged antics. What is forgotten is he is surrounded and supported by enablers. Those who for their own reasons, green and otherwise, provide him with opportunity, security, and approval. So sad.

I think I have to look at it from his point of view. I've been criticized myself numerous times for my girls on horses, tractors, and working with cattle. I taught them from the time they were born how to handle animals as well. They grew up with them so they aren't scared and they know how to stay out of trouble and handle them better than most adults. To me there was never any danger but other people look at it as child abuse as well. Like he pointed out we put our kids in danger every single day with automobiles. How close do we get to the road everyday with out kids? Usually right up to the very edge of the road, especially in cities. The same way the crocodile could have lunged, he says they don't, a car could swerve and hit our kids etc. Same with riding bikes on roads. I would think there is a far greater risk for a kid to wreck his bike and fall in the path of an oncoming car than there is for Irwin to fall down and the crocodile to actually eat his child.

I agree with you cowboydoc. Steve probably saw no harm in having his son around the crocodile. If you follow his show and saw different clips from when he was younger, he was always around them. I let my 7 year old daughter ride a 4 wheeler (with helmet) in the backyard and people say she is too young. Granted a month old might be a little early to get him started, but Steve is no dummy either. It wasn't like he had him in the pen with one of the more agressive crocodiles like Agro. I believe Murray (the croc he had the baby in with) is an older more tame crocodile. I bet he would have done it whether or not the camera was there or not.

Working with crocs is Irwin's profession -- if anyone knows what is or is not dangerous around his crocs, he does.

Yep, we each have to decide how much risk we're going to take for ourselves and our children, and no matter what the risk level, there'll be some who think we were crazy for taking that risk. In this case, I think Irwin's crazy, but he might think I'm crazy for some of the risks I've taken for myself and my kids. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

It's interesting how we at TBN compared this whole thing with MJ. Looks like CNN is also comparing the two. At lunch today the TV was on CNN. I couldn't hear what they are saying but evidently you can vote on which one was the most dramatic. But I can't find it on CNN's Page.
