Note that when used on a snowplow, only the extended blade end is crossover protected.
If you are plowing snow away from the curbs your protected but the normal practice is to push snow to the curbside (right) and that right side is always fully retracted and un protected.
(I once had a large tractor that was crossover equipped with a major repair on the right loader arm caused by the driver ramming a curb while plowing.)
Now on a straight pusher type blade both corners would be protected with a crossover.
Like for clearing large parking areas, but then speed would still be your enemy and commercial lot clearing is a always a speed exercise.
