After the recent monsoons here in N. Ga. my road, 600 yards worth got some really good washing. Especially where a couple of pipes clogged up and it washed several inches deep mini-gullies. A couple of loads of crusher run, many passes with a 5' KK blade and follow up with an 8" I beam closest to the tractor and a railroad tie at the end of a 10' length of chain link fencing smoothed it out just great.
The problem is, that last 2 inches next to the fairly steep ditch that the blade wont reach and swinging the drag fence over wont bring it down. All the crown in the world didnt do a bit of good there and it is just making a new ditch from the gully the water is cutting. any thoughts?......thanks

Can you get a piece of metal and extend your blade? It doesn't seem like you need to move much material. Maybe a piece of 1/8" sheet might get the job done. You'd have to be careful because if you ever really dug in with it, it woud probably bend.

Hey .....thats a good thought......maybe a piece of 1/4 X 12 X 12 metal held with c clamps along the sides at a couple of places and at the top a couple of places........I need to be able to cut down around 2 inches for about 50 yards...but MANY shallow passes at it will keep the metal from bending perhaps...the angle of the blade will work the chert and gravel into the ruts.......getting close to that ditch with steep loose sides is the tricky part........its only 18 or so inches deep but thats enough to cause damage.........
I thought about, which I am gonna try first........manually horsing the drag fence with the I beam and railroad tie, over to where it is almost falling down in the ditch......with the pressure dragging right on the edge but yet moving the gravel/dirt out onto the road......thanks

Hello Dennis--Usually several inchs can be gained, If you Can you offset your rear blade by adjusting your check chains or using a adjustable stabilizer bar to the extreme right of left?--Just be careful not to hit your rear tire!-- Ken Sweet

Ken......thanks.......today I rigged/chained the 8" I beam that I use for dragging so that it would swing really wide......made it go at an angle so it would throw the gravel back up towards the center.......and low and behold it worked.........got about 1/4 inch depth per pass; but it was smooth and worked to keep the crown......the debris went into the ditch but; again, the remainer went back up on the road...................then I hooked up my chain link with the I beam on the front and a railroad tie on the back and golllllly nice road.......anyway ......thanks
