This is the issue with the HST fore and aft rocking pedal and the steering brakes. What happens if you hold down the cruise control switch and then step on the brake ? Will it stay in CC until you let go of the button? I know only the LH brake pedal releases the CC latch relay. I spent a little time with the schematic , confusing to say the least. Could go out and try it but someone here might know.
It also might be a bad thing to hold the button down.

It will release while your foot is on the brake and immediately reset when you release the brake pedal.

Well That answers that. I guess the only way to make steering brakes work is move the switch to the clutch.

If you split the brake pedals by flipping up the tab, you should be able to brake on the side without the switch without disengaging cruise. That would work whether you held the button depressed or not. Of course, you would only have brake steering in one direction.

On my class III tractor, the brake pedals are on the left side and you have to press both pedals to make the cruise switch disengage. You can brake steer in either direction with cruise on, but it feels strange to me to do it. I brake steer all the time, but I don't do it with cruise engaged much. Mostly, I use cruise only when I'm going in a straight line.

Cruise control to me is like driving a gear'd tractor.. so I'm used to it.. if only I could get the darn CC to stop shutting off when I hit my left brake pedal.. I have a heel/toe arrangement I use on the left pedal.. I use my heel on the HST treadle, and my toe on the brake. Hard to reach the right brake pedal though..

yeah I was hoping by holding down the CC switch it would override the LH pedal switch which does the disconnect. But not. If I had really long feet I could reach the right hand pedal with my toe and the forward rocker and steer to the right. then if I had longer feet I could do the same thing but use my heel on the rear rocker and turn in reverse. I used to do this with a NW crawler crane that had a busted steering linkage on one side. Not with long feet . Or best yet not get into a corner where I need to turn that tight. The TC34 turns pretty tight anyway.
