I am going to order the cruise control upgrade and I was wondering if anyone had installed one. I was wondering if it was a complicated job or something simple. From JD Parts online it looks like the kit has 3 switches and a wiring harness. Is this correct. Also would like to hear from someone who has installed one to see if its worth the trouble.

Its real easy i installed my up grade about 30 min. its just the matter of taking the console off and popping out the switch caps.then unclipping the old harness and installing new one and putting in the new switches its really easy and it comes with the instructions just be sure to put the right switch with the right harness clip.GOOD LUCK!! any question feel free to E-mail me at megatowline@yahoo.com

I had the dealer install mine, and it is definately worth the 86 bucks. When mowing my lawn, I just set the cruise for 5MPH, and when I get to a challenging portion of the property I can just tap it down to 3MPH in a few quick taps of the button, way better than the non automotive style cruise. I think you will love it.:)

Thanks for the info. I will order mine tomorrow. I have big areas to mow with few obstructions and I have areas with flowers trees and other obstacles so it should work perfect for me. Thanks again for the good advise.
