2017 Kioti CS2510 on order .. w/ Industrial tires, heated cab, FEL, and SB50 snow blower.
Greetings...

I was going to order a CS2510 from the local dealer but on Friday the sales tech I was dealing with convinced me the CS2210 is the same tractor minus around 3 engine hp and less than 1 PTO hp. My main reason for buying is snow. The geometry of my place and the prevailing winter (storm) wind nails me every time. Even with my Honda HSS928 I have to blow snow twice, maybe 3 times to get rid of it which usually takes 3-5 hours (depending on whether I get to the snow before it rains). The front half requires me to blow into the wind, I'd much rather be in a warm cab with the radio on. Are there any significant differences between the CS2210/2510? I don't think <1 hp extra at the PTO will be noticeable ... or am I missing something?

I ordered a CS2210 + heated cab, FEL and front 50" blower on Friday .. but if there's a compelling reason to do so, I'm sure I can change it.

Thanks in advance for any replies, and my apologies if this has been answered already (I searched and couldn't find it).

Same tractor aside from the engine fueling. Snow is heavy, I would go for the small boost in HP. I've read many posts where folks talk about wet/heavy snow bogs the tractor engine down and requires slower than desired progress speeds. I think for the extra 5%-7% cost I would grab the extra PTO HP since it is available. If you were just running a finish mower and using the hydraulics for the FEL/BH with no heavy PTO loads planned I would save the 5%-7% and go with the 22HP. That is my personal opinion.

I think that if you get the 22HP and it bogs and slows you down... thus frustrating you, you will know that you left a couple HP on the table to save a grand or so and that this couple HP may have reduced the bog/slow-down/frustration. If you just skip to it and get the 25HP version, even if it bogs down on you... you know that you got the most PTO performance you can get in that price range and frame size.

Thanks Rock Crawler .. that was my logic too. Makes perfect sense. The dealer convinced me the snow throwing difference was non-measurable without lab instruments. I'll call them right away to see if I can change it.

Many thanks.

EDIT: Just got an email confirmation from the dealer, order changed to CS2510 !!

I think you made a good choice in hp for that size and price range. Years ago I purchased a CK30hst. No CK35hst available then. There are times I would like the extra hp and especially with snow blowing. The heavy wet snow can make you slow down. Also, spend a little extra now and maybe not need the hp vs trading up later on and costing more. I hope you don't have to wait to long for the new toy.

Thanks Vic. Rock Crawler's logic turned on the lights for me. The dealer says both the tractor and SB50 should be in stock in 2 weeks. I'm looking forward to them .. but not the snow !! ☺
