I have a 2009 CT235 that will crank the starter, but won't start. When I turn the
key on I don't get the familiar "click" from the fuel solenoid, I get a 3 or 4 second
buzz. I tested the 2 wires on the solenoid plug and one is hot for 3 or 4 seconds
and the other one is dead. I have replaced the relay on the firewall. My question
is has anyone had this problem, and could it be the ignition switch? It would be a
lot cheaper/easier to replace it than a 4hr drive to the closest dealer. Thanks in
advance J R Patton Tribune, Ks.

Test from manual of solenoid should be appx 18.2 ohms while touching the electrical connector terminals.

Well ya got me on that one. Don't have an ohm meter. Are you talking about testing the plug that connects to the solenoid? With the key turned on? Thanks JP

Going to type in the exact wording from the manual: Disconnect the connector from the fuel shutoff solenoid. Use an ohmmeter to check the fuel shutoff solenoid. The reading between electrical connector terminals must be approximately 18.6 ohm. Figure 70-7-5.

Now the kicker to this is Figure 70-7-5 is a picture of the unplugged wire end with the ohm meter ends stuck in it.

I admit this seems wrong and would suggest touching the ohm meter leads on the solenoid ends. Won't hurt anything. If you did check ohms back toward the switch it would be with the key in the off position. A volt check would seem to me to be the proper test with the key on but maybe my thinking is wrong.

If I had scanning ability I would attach the picture but cannot. A cheap voltmeter normally has an ohm setting on it. Harbor Freight gives them away sometimes and one can be purchased there for around $5.00.

Bobcat dealer tells me that one of the connections momentarily pulls the
plunger back (the 3 or 4 second click) and the other terminal is hot all of
the time to hold the plunger back to allow fuel through. Thanks for the help.

Assuming from your first post then that you are not getting correct voltage you your solenoid.

Have you checked the fuse box? Sorry for the dumb question. Also track the wire back to the fuse box and look for shorts. Hope this helps.

Tractor is up and running. There was a bad connection in the harness under
the left floorboard. Where the harness from the front of the tractor connects
to the harness at the rear of the tractor. Wahoo!

Glad you found it. Thanks for letting us know
