Tractor
Bobcat 335
Hi, i have a ct335 bobcat tractor and was wondering if anyone else had this starting issue. After i let the glow plug light go off and turn the key to start , the tractor makes this clicking noise sometimes for 5 to 10 secs and then the starter engages and turns the motor over then it starts. Sometimes it fires right up. Always fires right up with no delay when motor is warm. I took unit into dealer and they replaced the switch and it seemed to work for a couple days but now problem has returned. Thanks if anyone has any idea please post.

Have you checked your battery and it's connections?

Yes i have, cleaned all the connections, even replaced the starter, i am just wondering if there is a starter relay or a control box somewhere that all the seat, brake, tran shift lever, etc go to and then send the signal to the starter. I have had this unit in to the dealer 3 times already and they never seem to figure it out. Hopefully some one on here has had this problem and were able to know what relay, or control box could be faulty

Sounds wierd best i can say is follow the clicking noise if it clicks for 5 - 10 seconds when you try and start it should be able to track it down. may be a relay or something good luck.

I have a bobcat ct335 not getting fuel to the injectors. I have replaced fuel filter and fuel shut off solenoid. Anyone knows anything thing else I can do.

Is there voltage to the solenoid, do you hear it click ON?
Is there fuel pressure to the injection pump? Should be approximately 4 psi.

Possible fuel pump if not getting fuel to injection pump.

You say you cleaned the connections, but did you look carefully at the bottom copper ring (below clamp) for corrosion or a crack (positive terminal). Mine acted the same way (not enough current around one side of the terminal and relay chattered) and when I finally found it I was surprised. To check pull on the positive cable beside the battery and watch the lower copper ring around the terminal. If it is cracked replace.

Hope this helps

Do you have good gravity flow to the fuel bowl from the tank. If not clean the tank and that line. Also as you replaced the filter did you check that the top of the old filter was not stuck in the top. This can cause an air leak to the pump from what I remember in other posts. Also check all of the lines to the pump for cracks.

1st problem is a battery issue IMO. My CT-445 did the same thing when it was really cold. The battery on it was badly corroded with less than 100 hours.Common problem.

My guess on #2 is that when you replaced the filter you did not get a good seal which is allowing air in the system. There shoudl be a way to manually prime the system if its' like other diesel engines I have owned. You will know quickly if it is pushing fuel or sucking air. If that doesn't' work might try putting a little air pressure in the fuel tank. I had a slug of crud get stuck in a fuel line a few months ago on another tractor and that's what it took to get it out of the line. It's pretty straighforward to disconnect lines and blow them out to make sure there is not a restriction.
